LOS ANGELES – A man in a wheelchair was recorded attacking another train passenger and knocking him unconscious in a video now spreading widely on X. After the assault, the man returned to his wheelchair and continued kicking the victim as he began to regain consciousness. Signage visible in the footage points to a Los Angeles Metro B and D Line train, although the post sharing the clip framed it alongside New York City subway crime data.

According to the post, the man in the wheelchair attacked another rider and left him unconscious. He then settled back into his chair and kept kicking the victim with one foot as the man slowly came around.
The poster said no one in the train car stepped in to stop the attack. Other passengers reportedly watched as the assault unfolded near the doors.
Train Signage Points to Los Angeles Metro B and D Line
The footage shows Metro branding along with B and D line markers above the train doors. A partially visible station map on the side panel appears to reference MacArthur Park, a stop served by both lines.
Those details match the Los Angeles Metro system rather than the New York City subway. Where and when the incident happened has not been confirmed by transit officials or police.
Post Cites NYPD Data Showing 523 Felony Assaults on New York Subway
The post sharing the video cited NYPD Transit Bureau figures showing 523 felony assaults in the New York City subway from January through November 2025. That compares with 527 during the same period in 2024.
The same post said subway robberies rose 51.7 percent in January compared with the prior year, citing NYPD reports to the MTA. Those figures relate to New York and do not describe the Los Angeles system shown in the clip.

The identities of both men have not been released, and the condition of the injured passenger remains unknown. No arrest connected to the attack was mentioned in the viral post.
